ATP Testing

Testing with your MediCount ATP Bioluminescent Meter for adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the “energy currency” of cells, is a quick and easy way to find out if your water is contaminated or your surface cleaning process is working. Simply follow the directions included in your MediCount ATP:

  1. Sample the fluid or surface with your MediCount ATP sampler (Water or Surface)
  2. Insert sampler into cartridge. Fully depress to activate.
  3. Shake cartridge twice.
  4. Insert cartridge into your MediCount ATP Bioluminescent Meter. Depress sampler fully. Close door and you'll have results displayed on the screen in approx. 30seconds.

ATP testing detects cellular matter in water or on a surface, allowing you to know within seconds whether or not a fluid or a surface has a contamination issue. The ability to rapidly detect cellular residues which are too small for the eye to see and not odiferous enough for your nose to detect gives you the ability to treat your fluid or correct your surface decontamination process immediately if it isn't operating up to your standards.

Common applications include:

  • Hospital Room cleaning verification
  • Surgical Instrument cleaning verification (pre-sterilization)
  • Dog Kennel cleaning (verify cleaning to reduce disease spread, etc.)
  • Dairy Farms - milk processing equipment check
  • Milk processing plants
  • Food processing plants
  • Restaurants
  • School / University Food Prep & Serving Areas
  • Flood Restoration (check for bacteria & fungi QUICKLY)
  • Aqueous Fluid monitoring (washers, coolant sumps, cooling towers, central systems, etc.)
  • Any place where there is a need to rapidly check for cellular residues that may include bacteria, fungi, or food for them to grow in/on.

ATP testing is not “bacteria specific” – it will detect ATP from any source including bacteria, fungi, food residues, etc.. Your MediCount ATP Bioluminescent Meter will not replace but rather will be adjunctive to your bacterial testing. Your MediCount ATP Bioluminescent Meter will allow you to assess water or surfaces for “level of cleanliness” long before the results of bacterial testing are available – thus reducing your odds of failing your bacterial testing. When “looks clean” or “smells okay” isn’t clean enough you need the MediCount ATP Bioluminescent Meter – Order Yours Now.
