The Tempest™ Laparoscopic Ultrasonic Washer is a fully automated, single operator cleaning system designed for the Central Processing Department of Hospitals. It was designed from the ground up with laparoscopic instruments in mind.

The tremendous growth in laparoscopic surgery has revealed the shortcomings of the traditional ultrasonic tank cleaning of these instruments. Due to the complexity of these instruments which are hollow, and the pressurized nature of the surgical procedures we found that while the instruments may look clean on the outer surfaces, that biological fluids such as blood and fatty tissue can congeal and become encrusted in the inner diameters of the long lumen areas, even after sterilization.

The Tempest™ Laparoscopic Ultrasonic Washer brings an unprecedented level of clean to these surgical instruments.

With the ability to process up to 24 tools (for the 2 basket) & 48 tools (for the 4 basket) in shorter cycle times, the Tempest™ Laparoscopic Ultrasonic Washer will greatly increase the throughput and provide unmatched levels of consistent, cleanliness results.Exclusive Tempest features or options include:

  • Digital ultrasonic generator allows precise & constant sonic to load calibration
  • Internal tool flush system uses flow pressures up to 55psi; nearly twice the pressure available in current medical sonic washers, to clean bio-mater out of the lumen areas.
  • Bubble bio-descaling mechanism, further enhances cleaning and aggressively de-scales the bio-material attached to the interior (lumen) surfaces of the surgical & Laparoscopic tools
  • Large wire baskets to accommodate longer tools such as the 42cm Bariatric device.
  • The oscillation cycle uses water movement to achieve large gross bio-burden separation from the surgical instrument through movement in the enzymatic solution. .
  • Automatic self-cleaning filtration (Optional): restricts flow down to 5 microns reducing the recontamination of bio-material into the internal areas of the surgical tools. When flushing the tank solution to drain the filter goes through a back flush and filter expansion to allow trapped debris to flush out with the tank flush. There are no filters to purchase and no employee time spent replacing filters.
