Nozzle Cleaning

Nozzles are one of 3 different styles:



  • Stainless steel with ¼” npt that screw into the manifold pipe itself
  • Stainless steel “quick fit” or “zip-tip” that include a threaded male body that directly screws into the pipe and a tip that is the actual nozzle and can be removed and re-installed with a single push and ¼ turn.
  • Polypropylene adjustable ball and clamp nozzle assemble.

To clean nozzles:



  1. All nozzles must be removed to be cleaned.
  2. Before removing the nozzles, the angle and direction of the nozzle spray slot must be sure to be noted so that the v-jet pattern is returned to the proper location for optimal spray coverage upon completion of the cleaning task.
  3. It is best to remove the entire manifold from the spray bar tree.
  4. With the removal of the manifold then the removal of each nozzle is simple and the manifold itself can be checked for debris in the pipe.
  5. Remove by pushing nozzle tip toward the pipe and turning ¼ rotation clockwise.
  6. Clear barrel of nozzle itself and, where applicable, connecting body with shop air or pipe cleaner. Make sure entire barrel is clean of debris before returning it to the proper location on the manifold.
  7. Visually check for worn nozzles at every cleaning. When your elliptical nozzles become more round in dimension, then they are considered worn and need to be replaced. Poor spray pattern will allow areas of the parts to avoid spray impingement during washing process.
