Cleaning Issue

Our client manufactures out board motors and needed a cleaning system to remove chips and coolant from connecting rods. The client's objective was to decrease labor costs by cleaning and demagnetizing parts prior to assembly. The client's existing cleaning process is labor intensive, including manual demagnetization of the part, followed by numerous steps to wash and dry the connecting rods.

Midbrook Solution

Our engineers designed an oval shaped, race-track style, return to operator conveyor. The cleaning system was designed to demagnetize, wash, inhibit, and dry parts without manual intervention. This unique conveyor system moves the connecting rods from the demagnetization stage to wash, in a continuous process. Only one operator is required to load and unload the baskets from the conveyor system. The client's labor costs were reduced and productivity increased with the implementation of this efficiently designed system.
