Cleaning Issue

The client manufactures a variety of cold headed fastener blanks for a premier bolt supplier. They already had a Midbrook rotary drum washer, and they needed to add a drying unit that was separate from the wash station being used. The client wanted to eliminate fork truck traffic in the plant by loading the parts from the cleaning unit to the dryer in the same location.

Midbrook Solution

Midbrook engineers designed a rotary styled dryer with "kicker bars" staggered around the drum to move the parts and provide even cleaning and drying. The dryer will accept parts loaded off of a convenyor directly from the cleaning system. The unload portion of the drum is extended out for unloading the parts once they are dried. Midbrook was able to meet the expectations and drying needs required by our client within the given production rate.
