Cleaning Issue

The client needed to remove water soluble fluid and machining chips from aluminum cam caps. Our client's objective was to remove burrs from the parts
with a spray wash that aimed at the grooved areas of the cam cap along with a five second cycle time. The client also required that the cleaning system be robotically loaded and unloaded in the manufacturing line.

Midbrook Solution

Our engineers designed a fixtured conveyor type cleaning system with a fixed orientation intended for washing critical areas of the cam cap in order to remove burrs and machining chips. A stand-alone high-pressure water circuit was utilized to reduce cost and ease maintenance. An air operated indexing system presented the parts in the exact same location for robotic load and unload. Midbrook met the client's cleanliness specifications and production requirements with this high performance washer.
