On a rotating basket washer, the operator loads parts into baskets and slides basket into washer. After baskets are loaded, the door to the basket will be manually closed and the operator will start the cycle by holding dual finger switches. The operator will also be able to select from a list of multiple washing sequences.

Baskets lower into the wash chamber and the washer starts spraying and fills wash chamber with cleaning solution. After chamber is at it’s fill point, the basket will rotate slowly at variable speeds. After washing process is over, the basket will stop rotating the ultrasonics cleaning with initiate. Once the ultrasonic cycle is finished, the cleaning chamber will drain. (Note basket can rotate continuously if desired)

The blow-off stage will consist of a regenerative blower. The blower is specifically mounted above the baskets to create a curtain of air that strips excess or puddled water from the part and enhances flash drying. Also included with this will be heating elements to heat the air. This will be variable and set by a temperature controller on the control panel. It is programmable to have the baskets rotating in this stage.

After finishing the wash, and blow-off cycle, the basket assembly will reach it’s home position and the door can be opened for removal of baskets and clean parts.

Material handling consists of a chain driven basket carriage.  The carriage will be lowered into the solution with the use of a single pneumatic cylinder.

The carriage is driven by a variable speed AC drive with a speed control is located on the control panel. A proximity sensor will provide at-home load position. A second proximity switch will stop the basket rotation should it be desired to not rotate the basket entirely for certain parts.

The carriage will be fitted with a torque-limiting device. This is an adjustable device that will shut down the conveyor if a part jam is sensed. Also included is a sensor for location of carriage home position.
